Singapore Airlines’ revamped A380 cabins will take luxury to new heights for visitors to Sydney.

Sydney Airport was today proud to welcome the world first debut of Singapore Airlines’ incredible new cabin product, which will provide passengers with enhanced comfort and convenience.

The transformed A380s offer additional space and privacy across all classes, following four years of development and extensive customer feedback.

Sydney Airport Managing Director and CEO Kerrie Mather said the improved cabin offering would make the journey to and from Sydney even more enjoyable and relaxing for passengers.

“At Sydney Airport, we are focused on working with our airline partners to enhance the passenger experience at every stage of their journey,” Ms Mather said.

“We’re thrilled that Singapore Airlines chose Sydney for the global debut of their innovative new product. Their world-class cabin offering will ensure visitors are well rested when they land in our stunning city and ready to enjoy everything Sydney has to offer.

“As a leading airport globally for next generation aircraft such as the A380, we’ve significantly invested in a range of improvement projects to accommodate the latest aircraft technology and ensure a more seamless passenger experience.”

Singapore Airlines’ Regional Vice President Southwest Pacific Philip Goh said the deployment of the new cabin products to Sydney was exciting news for the airline’s passengers.

"Over the past four years, we have worked hard to develop a new range of cabin products for our Airbus A380 that will provide our customers with a new level of comfort, privacy and elegance," Mr Goh said.

"We are very pleased to provide our customers travelling to and from Sydney with the first opportunity to experience the difference of these new products, fitted on our newest A380 aircraft.

"Sydney has long been a key destination for us since we launched operations here 50 years ago.

Since our first flight to Sydney in 1967, the city has played host to a number of firsts, including 10 years ago when we launched the world's first ever commercial flight of the Airbus A380.

"To be able to welcome our newest A380 aircraft to the harbour city a decade on, fitted with our brand new cabin products, is a very special event for us.”

A380s fitted with the new products will fly daily to Sydney on Singapore Airlines’ SQ221 service and return to Singapore as SQ232.
