Sydney Airport has today announced that it will demolish and redevelop its P1 domestic car park which, at 54-years-old, has reached the end of its useful life.
The demolition of P1 is expected to be complete by mid-2024, with work underway on development plans for the P1 site. Sydney Airport will use the redevelopment of the P1 site as a catalyst for improving the experience for customers and operators in the precinct.
Sydney Airport will ensure passenger disruption is minimised and car parking customers will continue to be accommodated across the P2, P3 and Blu Emu domestic car parks.
The P1 car park has a footprint of 13,000 square metres and was originally constructed in 1969, with further extensions in 1977 and 1983.
