On 19 November 2019, we celebrated Sydney Airport's Centenary, making us one of the world’s oldest continually operating airports.
From that solitary flight piloted by pioneer aviator Nigel Love carrying just one passenger, we’ve grown to now look after more than 44 million passengers every year.
This is a tremendous milestone, not just as a landmark in aviation history for the airport, but also for Sydney and the broader community we’ve served for 100 years.
As Sydney’s Airport, our story has always been closely linked with that of our city and the state of New South Wales and will continue to be, as we look forward to the next 100 years.
We’ve created our Centenary Centre as a convenient online hub for information about our history, fun facts and a timeline showcasing some of the moments which have been pivotal over the years to our growth and success.
