Travel Update: Tropical Cyclone Alfred

If you're scheduled to fly in or out of Ballina, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast, Hervey Bay, Lord Howe Island or Maroochydore this week, Cyclone Alfred may impact your travel plans.

Qantas

If you're booked to travel with Qantas to or from Ballina, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast, Hervey Bay, Lord Howe Island and Maroochydore on or prior to 3 March 2025, for travel between 4 and 9 March 2025, you can choose to request a travel credit or fee-free date change (up to 14 days from the original date of travel, subject to availability).

If you booked directly with Qantas, visit Manage Booking to make changes to your booking or contact them on 13 13 13 within Australia to discuss your options.

Virgin Australia

If you're booked to travel with Virgin Australia to or from Ballina, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast from Tuesday, 4 March to Saturday, 8 March inclusive, you can choose to:

• move your flight to a new date within 14 days (of the original departure date) free of charge
• cancel and request a travel credit by contacting Virgin Australia's Guest Contact Centre on 136789 or by contacting your travel agent.

The original ticket must be issued on or before Monday, 3 March 2025. Moving to a new flight is subject to availability.

Jetstar

Jetstar flights to/from Ballina - Byron are cancelled until at least midnight on Thursday 6 March. Flights to/from Gold Coast (Coolangatta) will cease from 4pm on Wednesday 5 March. Affected passengers have been notified by SMS.

Customers flying to/from Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Ballina Byron between 4 March and 9 March 2025 can:

• change their flight for free (up to 7 days before or 14 days after the original date)
• cancel and receive a voucher for the value of untravelled flights.
